De Wet Open Overheid was also discussed. Civil servants are reflecting on how it is being used and by whom for what. At first, it sounds cliché, but I believe it is not; it is a classic concern. Stakeholders have the right to information about government decisions and actions. It is an excellent project to develop best practices so others can learn.
I wish that the government and citizens of Curaçao could learn from this because, currently, this is a big issue in Curaçao. The government seldom meets the press. Bold decisions are taken and not explained; too often, citizens do not dissent. One exception is the case where a foundation took the Public Prosecutors Office to court demanding an investigation of the case of the pardon of over three billion guilders for not paying taxes till 2017. However, this has no results.
Another exception is the protest of the concrete construction on three public beaches, an expanse of nature and authenticity.
